University of South Wales 2nd vs Cardiff Medics 1st

The head to head match against the two teams of University of South Wales and the Cardiff Medics ended in a victory of 3-2 to the USW students.
The first 5 minutes of the game dominated by the Cardiff medics came abruptly to an end when USW’s Frederick scored in the 8th minute giving the side the lead, this followed by USW dominating the first half. The star player of the first half Junior for the USW team created many chances including an assist to the first goal and then managing to grab himself the second goal in the 18th minute to give them a 2-0 lead. However the Medics came back with a goal by the Captain himself Brebner in the 29th minute who was later taken off due to what appeared to be an injury. A controversial penalty took place in the 35th minute for USW which could have be seen as a handball by Junior before he went down, however the referee decided penalty for USW which was stuck to the back of the net by Holbakken ending the first half at a 3-1 lead to USW.
The second half took a surprising turn by the UK’s most successful medical school football team as most of the possession was dominated by the Medics as they created endless chances off and on target including Moore’s 90th minute header over the bar which then lead to them missing out on the opportunity get the equaliser.
The USW coach James Mcilvenny believes that his side has defensively “improved from last season” but not only has his defensive players impressed him, he also believes that his front three attackers will be the “reason that they go up this season” giving his side hope for the upcoming games.
